Ps3 and updating its flashplayer
I double-click on the Flash installer to run the installation. There is no Flash (or Shockwave) plugin listed on any of the menus - it's like it doesn't exist. The installation process completes, the installer tells me that the download is successful, and my browser opens back up with an "Installation Successful" message from the Adobe website. I downloaded the latest version of Java because I read somewhere that Flash requires Java to work; I installed the "Add-On Compatibility Reporter" so I could force Java to be enabled.Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the update. After the update has been completed, go to (Settings) .Version 4.85 adds or updates the following features.New for 4.85 This system software update improves system performance.
If the data is not saved in the correct way, the PS3™ system will not recognize the update data. Notice The system automatically searches for and finds the update data saved on the storage media or USB device. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
I don't know why the Adobe Flash installation is saying it is successful (is it lying to me??
), but there is no plugin showing up in my Manage Add-Ons menu, and I have googled every possible combination of the content in this post and have not found a solution that works yet.
If your PS3™ system software version is 4.85 (or later), you do not need to perform this update.
To check the version of your system software, go to (Settings) .
It made no difference whatsoever, as best I can tell.
